Chanel Dubai fashion show – What can we expect for resort 2015?

Chanel Dubai fashion show for resort 2015 will be shown on Tuesday, May 13th. Are you as curious as I am to know what Karl Lagerfeld is going to send down the runway?

The show is going to be staged on an artificial island. Dubai is a contrasting city on the one hand it has an Arabian heritage, but on the other side its ultra modern and a city of the superlative, just think second highest tower in the world (Burj Khalifa) one of the worlds tallest fountains. It has golden overload, like the Burj al Arab lobby and minimalism that gives the Laduree in the Dubai mall the cosyness of an airport. Taking into account the countries regulations for woman’s clothing (knees and shoulders covered) I guess its going to be a modest show, which means a midriff exposing Cara Delevingne won’t open the show. Taking this into account and mixing it with a little knowledge below I give a short description on what I expect to see on the runway tomorrow!

Chanel Dubai fashion show – The shoes

Regarding shoes I think that the Chanel Dubai fashion show might continue the brands flat shoe trend. This would be in line with a general trend towards comfort footwear as well as the classic Arabian heritage footwear.

I guess that some elements of Arabic footwear might also be incorporated like done in the Métiers d’Art Paris Dallas collection with the cowboy boot. There might be some flat mules or arched cutouts.

I guess the show is likely to be about pants, maybe some with a leg cuff. There might be midi skirts in line with the general midi trend. Maybe both are going to be layered.

Chanel Dubai fashion show – tops

Regarding tops Karl Lagerfeld might continue his cool waist cinching silhouette he started in couture and continued for fall 2014. It would be a great take on classic 1001 night clothing plus respect the Arabian dress code.

I am really excited and can’t wait to see how Karl Lagerfeld is going to interpret the Dubai theme on the runway. What do you expect modern Dubai vs. 1001 nights?
