Yesterday, I spotted a photo of Emmanuelle Alt, one of my favorite style icons, upon arrival at the Chanel resort Dubai show on style.com. As always she looked super effortless in a black blazer worn above a simple T-shirt chinched at the waist with a simple Isabel Marant belt. But stop – look again …. The blazer has a really broad shawl collar, a white lining – Guess I have seen it before …

…if I am not totally wrong its the Isabel Marant pour H&M jacket from last fall. A tough choice while most people around you are in Chanel!? Even more fascination about her sartorial decision is that she presumably didn’t wear this jacket for the first time. She wore it to Milan fashion week back in February …

Once again this proofs that being fashionable is not a matter of the hight of your bank account. There is almost no correlation! Beeing fashionable is a question of defining a signature, repeating key pieces but always putting them into a new arrangement.
However, getting Emmanuelle Alts Dubai style might be more difficult as it seems at first sight. See the beautiful vintage looking T-shirt. I am searching for the perfect Tee’s since quite some time and have to admit that its hard to get good ones. Combining a blazer with a waist belt that flatters your shape is hard too. The fabric of the blazer has to have an inherent stiffness to make for a good look and depending on your shape the belt width has to be adjusted to the hight of our waist ….
