Corals seemed to be the inspiration for the Louis Vuitton cruise Monaco presentation

After Dior in Brooklyn and Chanel cruise Dubai the Louis Vuitton cruise Monaco collection was presented directly opposite of the Palais du Prince. It was only the second show by the brands new designer Nicolas Ghesquière, who became famous while heading Balenciaga. Taking into account the video screens on the floor as well as the decorative elements on the clothing the collection seemed to be inspired by corals. Similar to his first collection a strong 60ies vibe was present. Flared pants, guess some were made of neoprene, were shown with waist belted tops and jackets. The addition of a bucked bag was a little reminiscent of Jane Birkin carrying her iconic straw basket.

Regarding skirts and dresses I particularly liked his flouncy summer styles. To layer a neck holder dress with a tight pullover is in my opinion an incredibly good inspiration for all woman, who want to wear the style but don’t want to go without a bra. So much better than wearing a plastic strap bra as I sometimes see in the streets!

I also spotted the continuation of the little trunk Minaudière, Petit Malle, which was this time a little flatter and equipped with a smaller strap. Guess LVMH already knows that the bag is going to be a big hit!!!

Regarding shoes I loves the strappy sandals. It was a collection about heels, but they didn’t seem too high. So they might be really comfortable.

While Nicolas Nicolas Ghesquière’s first collection included great asymmetric earrings they were lacking in the Louis Vuitton cruise Monaco presentation. That accessoire that ruled was the belt, almost every model wore one. There were cool studded belts and sweet bow belts, but the thing that stood out was a belt with a square closure showing a minimalist engraved LV logo.

I am going to take a closer look at the collection tomorrow and hope that there will be some close ups of the bags very soon. What were your favorites so far? And what do you think about the Petit Malle?
