Oxford lace up shoes – you know the flat lace up shoes – which woman started to borrow from the boys back in the 20ies. The British designer Mary Katrantzou, who is famous for her incredible digital print, dedicated her whole spring 2014 collection to them! Want to know who else had a crush on Oxford lace up shoes for the spring summer collections?
They were the only shoe style present on the Barbara Bui spring 2014 runway. The Barbara Bui Oxford lace up shoes were worn without lacing and had some really cool silver metal detailing at the sole. On the runway they were shown in white, silver and red, but there is a plenty of other versions available in the Barbara Bui online store.
One of my favorites for summer definitely is the light blue denim style, which will definitely look great she worn with white boyfriend pants.

Similar to Barbara Bui Giorgio Armani based his Emporio Armani show on the flat Oxford lace up shoes. His version offered cool cutout details as well as an interesting mix of different leathers.

Thakoon Addition presented an “open toe Oxford” with a cool aztec reminiscent motif made of interwoven leather at the toe cap. While I am totally in love with the pattern I have some problems with the open toe design.
In line with the trend towards comfort foot wear Oxford lace up shoes definitely have a moment this summer. But what do you think – Do you like this shoes style or do you prefer to jump on the trainer trend or stay classic with ballet flats and loafers?
