Chanel Couture flip-flops, biker shorts, Kendall Jenner & a pregnant bride

Discussion point number 1 regarding the Chanel Couture fall 2014 presentation, which was held at the Grand Palais last week in Paris, definitely was the pregnant bride, in other words Ashleigh Good 7 months pregnant as well as the runway appearance of Kim Kardashian’s sister Kendall Jenner. That said the inspiration behind the collection was Le Corbusier meets Baroque. And that was visible in every tiny aspect of the collection. Shapes were simple and clear but the embellishment was extremely rich. Fun thing very often tiny squares of concrete, the material Le Corbusier popularized, were used as an embroidery. So what kind of inspirations can we get for structuring our upcoming fall wardrobe?

  • Maybe more summer than winter the first thing that really stood out were the wrap around the ankle Chanel Couture flip-flops. As pretty as they looked on the feet of the models chances are that its hard to make a shoe with a bow at the ankle work for an average woman. The bow adds weight to the thinnest part of the leg thus cutting it short and making it look extremely bulky. For all those who would like to try a similar sandal with a bow Lanvins espadrille sandal with a satin bow at the top of the foot provides a very pretty option (some of them are available on ebay.com).

  • Besides the Chanel Couture flip-flops the next thing that really caught the eye were the messenger bags worn cross body.

  • When we come to the jackets there were classic tailored shapes and signature boxy shapes. Both of which looked highly pretty in the combination with A-line skirts. A stand out in my opinion was the combination of an ankle length skirt with a boxy top – Its something thats really worth trying for the upcoming fall!
