Woman wearing glasses ….

Men wearing glasses have always been great. They are perceived as a symbol of being intellectual. In recent years I feel that there is an ongoing change in the perception of woman wearing glasses. Many stylish woman showed up wearing glasses at fashion events. Here are my top 3 woman wearing glasses.

Woman wearing glasses – Ines de la Fressange daughters

Nine d’Urso (20), just for reference the testimonial of Bottega Veneta’s fragrance campaign, and her sister Violette d’Urso (15) often wear glasses while accompanying their mother Inès de la Fressange to some of the hottest fashion events. Both prefer bold, tortoiseshell frames with a vintage edge.

Woman wearing glasses – Jenna Lyons

J Crew’s Jenna Lyons is known for her bold Moscot glasses. Wearing those glasses she usually keeps her makeup very simple except an occasional bold red lip. As the glasses are a statement piece she never combines them with a statement earring, usually wearing no ear jewellry at all.

Woman wearing glasses – Lupita Nyong’O

Lupita Nyong’O is another incredibly stylish woman, who is known to wear glasses even while sitting front row or during an award ceremony. Again she favors a bold black frame, goes for minimal make-up focusing on the lip and wears minimal jewelry. In contrast to Jenna Lyons she always wears a pair of gracile earrings, but usually skips a necklace or bracelets.

So what inspirations on how to wear glasses can we get from those 3 woman:

  1. Go for a statement frame! Don’t try to make the glasses as invisible as possible by means of frameless or gracile metal frame versions – Its useless everyone will immediately recognize that you are wearing glasses.
  2. Adjust your makeup! A statement frame is enough keep the eye makeup simple and focus your efforts on the lip.
  3. Match the jewelry wisely! The frame is a statement piece in the middle of your face it can’t be combined with an of the moment  statement earring or necklace. Jewelry at the ears and neck should be minimal, while bracelets and rings are there to set another statement.
