Chanel grocery store runway – Let’s have a look at the knitwear!

Ever since Chanel purchased heritage Scottish cashmere mill Barrie back in December 2012 knitwear has more and more become a very integral part of every Chanel collection. When it comes to the pre-fall Paris-Dallas show my absolute favorite knitwear pieces were the huge blanket scarf that came in different colors and texture. For the Chanel grocery store runway Karl Lagerfeld opted for the complete opposite of those surely a little hard to wear pieces and showed some super easy to combine infinity scarfs. Again the scarfs were my absolute knitwear standout from the collection!

These little infinity scarfs that came in several trendy colors like orange are a nice way to incorporate falls super bright trend! all pics from style.com

So what about the other knitwear pieces. I know a Chanel sweater is a pricy thing – you can get a fab Saint Laurent velvet tux jacket in the same price range – (EUR 1,500.00 – 2,500.00 depending on embellishment) and in the end its just a sweater! Nothing you can wear from day to evening!   But when we forget about price and just see the collection the sweater in different shades of red wouldn’t be a bad investment. The shape is totally classy, the shoulders are fitted and the colors aren’t too seasonal. My second favorite would be the orange one with its more straight shape.

Infinity scarfs are not so much a topic for me. There is only one way to wear them. I love to play with my scarfs and thanks to Hermes knotting cards and some nice blogs like http://www.maitaispicturebook.com I transformed into a person, who wears them 365 days a year 🙂

Infinity scarf is something that’s so mainstream that its hard to believe for me that a high end luxury brand like Chanel brings them to the runway! There is no versatility not 100 different ways to tie and drape it 🙁

Infinity scarf is a typical piece to be found in the lower price level. And for 20 -50 EUR I like them as they are easy to wear. But for me they are definitely not a high fashion purchase!

When I go for an investment purchase I want sth that can be worn in as many different ways as possible! Infinity is boring because it can only be styled one way! absolutely not for me!

I can only agree / Love to experiment with my scarfs and wear it in 1000 different ways!!!
