It took me until today to realize that I already analyzed the Chanel grocery store bags, jewelry and knitwear but totally forgot about the jackets. And whats a Chanel show without jackets right? So lets hurry and analyze them a little closer together! What looked easy to wear, versatile and timeless as well as of lasting or even increasing value?
Number one and top piece is very likely to be the candy pink skirt suit. Totally classic Chanel pocket jacket made out of beautiful tweed and already proofed to be highly editor with Lady Gaga wearing it on the cover of US Harpers Bazaar September issue and Andreea Diaconu in Vogue Paris August issue as well as on the cover of FNO special supplement.
For all, who love it but feel slightly disdracted by the candy pink color – Let s hope that they are doing it in black as well! In case that they don’t do it would it be possible to adjust it with a pair of light blue jeans, neutral heels and a burgundy bag?
When it comes to most other jackets from the Chanel grocery store runway I feel that its hard to imagine them in anyones wardrobe. The wasp waist silhouettes were heavily based on couture. As fascinating as this silhouette might look and as high as the craftsmanship behind them might be I feel that they have to be altered a lot to make them appropriate for retail.
Do you have jackets you love from the Chanel grocery store runway? Do you already own a Chanel jacket and how do/ would you wear it?
The cut and details of the jacket are nice – the color is not according to my taste. But putting a cut off version of a several thousand € skirt on a magazine cover is respectless in many ways!
🙁 🙁 🙁
I am not too much of a loyal Chanel client. But in case I would consider buying a Chanel jacket this fall guess it wouldn’t be this one and if they don’t have other wearable styles guess I wouldn’t buy any at all!
