Oh, I really can’t wait until “Boulevard Chanel”, the spring 2015 ready to wear show, hits the Grand Palais in Paris – so excited! But let’s make the time a little shorter and continue to talk about the “Chanel shopping center”, the fall 2014 collection, that hit store first week of September while we were in Paris. I already told you about my top jackets from the show – but after seeing the complexity of the cuts and textures and details face to face things can change a lot…
When it comes to cut – the collection is made up of two alterations. First – classic straight Coco Chanel style with pockets, which comes in several lengthes.
I still hold the strong believe that the candy pink tweed jacket, which was featured in so many magazines this fall (to see some of the pictures click here) and finally approved by Alexa Chung during London Fashion Week is one of the best items you can buy from the collection. Its editorial and wearable!
Also not really visible from the runway pics this silver turquoise shiny coat has such an amazing glow and sparkle!
Incredible to see and touch is the short black coat. The runway picture doesn’t give any hint on what the piece is really about – Its made out of shear tulle, which is embroidered with tweed in a way the brand uses to do in couture. An outstanding piece – I can only recommend to everyone to come to admire the piece in store!
Second there is an almost hour glass reminiscent shape with rounded shoulders a fitted waist and just a tiny hint of a peplum. This feminine and ladylike silhouette is more Karl Lagerfeld than Coco Chanel.
When it comes to this style the pink jacket worn by Cara Delevingne in the campaign is my personal stand-out.
Although the collection is much more about zippers than buttons, I don’t won’t to forget to point out the outstanding jeweled buttons. This time we had: 1.) crushed aluminum foil with transparent or pink coating, 2.) coffee beans, 3.) art deco arranged or simple pink candy 4.) currency.
Have you already seen the collection in store? What are your favorites?
