Yes its already some time ago that the “Boulevard Chanel” show with a feminist riot theme hit the Grand Palais in Paris (for all, who haven’t yet seen the show video its online here!). Thinking about the bags, the shoes, the accessories, jackets and even the makeup and nail polish there was really a lot going on on the runway. I can’t even remember one Chanel show that showed as many different styles as this one did! While Chanel previously used to be heavily focused on bags, jackets, pearl jewelry and to some extend shoes there was something within that show that suggested to me that the brand starts to broaden its spectrum …
Surely, knitwear was a key within the collection. Not only was a knitted cardigan presented by top of the top models Gisele Buendchen, but also was the number of different styles larger than ever.
But besides the knitwear Chanel spring 2015 was very much focused on the Chanel shirt. In white or watercolor print, short or long sleeves there were plenty of styles presented without a jacket worn above indicating that the brand wanted them to stand out for themselves.
A material that looked to be suede leather on the internet pics was also something new and unexpected for a Chanel show.
And finally, there were plenty of pants. This time mainly wide leg culotte style cropped versions that came in several different colors and materials.
What did you like the most about the show? Do you already have any favorites? Which pieces do you consider as the “must haves” of the upcoming season?
