Its a week ago that the latest Chanel Métiers d’Art collection, a kind of pre-fall show honoring the brands incredible craftsmen ateliers, has been presented in Salzburg. For all, who haven’t seen the show video yet I highly recommend to do so here. I already provided some informations on the handbags, shoes and jewelry that is going to arrive in June 2015. Now lets continue with the jackets!
As already mentioned before 2014 marks the 60ies anniversary of the iconic Chanel jacket, which is box shaped, collarless, has originally been equipped with 4 pockets as well as a contrasting trim. The Salzburg collection was full of these great classic styles! My personal favorite, and this is something I have to point out, is by far an ivory jacket with black contrasting trim as well as black straps above the front. Its the epitome of the iconic 1954 style!
For all those, who aren’t into the classic Chanel style, Caban jackets might be the right answer. Chanel hasn’t made caban jackets fashionable, this has to be credited to YSL in 1962. However, Karl Lagerfeld adopted the style and made it a very integral part of the Chanel DNA. For Paris Salzburg they came in different lengths from cropped to above the knee, swinging and fitted.
Continuing a shape started for fall 2014, the “grocery collection”, long coats were another important theme at Chanel Salzburg.
Coincidence or not?! For the first time I saw kimono style coats belted at the waist, which corresponded so funnily with the Isabel Marant Dempster jacket Emmanuelle Alt was wearing while attending the presentation!
Do you have any favorites from the collection so far?
