Stella McCartney Elyse & the revival of the platform shoes

Platforms are a somewhat strange fashion trend. Let’s be honest the look is not really flattering and its not that easy to walk in them. Despite of these drawbacks its a style that was repopularized in the late 90ies and early 2000s by pop groups like Spice Girls and never really faded afterwards. While in the 90ies the platform sneakers were the ultimate piece, later Christian Louboutin adopted the platform in order to elevate his heels and now classic Oxford lace up shoes received a platform treatment!

At the moment one of the ultimate IT shoes at the forefront of the platform Oxford trend seems to be Stella McCartney Elyse. The shoe was launched as part of the brands fall 2014 collection. For many colour combinations only 250 pairs were sold at that time and Stella Mc Cartney Elyse turned out to be one of the most beloved shoes among fashion month attendees last September! Good news for all fans of the style for cruise 2015 some additional colours have been released.

What is your opinion do you have second thoughts buying platform shoes or do you fully embrace the trend?
