Dior tribale earrings available online but still trending…

I am sure that almost everyone knows the iconic double pearl earrings – big pearl behind and small pearl on the earlobe! A lot of brands offer that style at the moment. And yes its innovative and classic at the same time. It puts the pearl stud we all love for its beautiful surface and its power to illuminate our teint in a new and modern context. But above all it removed the not so nice looking back closure that has always been an integral feature of stud earrings while making them as pretty from the back as from the front. But do you know how the idea for this style was born?

The original design came from the Dior accessory team around Camille Miceli. It was introduced in January 2013 and hit stores around May the same year. The style turned into an immediate success with long waiting lists for all those who wanted to get their hands on a pair of the earrings. Soon after a huge amount of similar styles by other brands was flooding the market. That said things have changed. Today the white resin pearl style has become available online. But it doesn’t seem to have lost its luster. Dior tribale earrings seem to be as popular among fashion folks as they were a year ago.

I still hold the strong believe that these earrings are not as easy to wear as some people might think. They look best on a more oblong and angular face because they smoothen its contours. However, a very small and gracile face tends to be overpowered by the big earrings. Furthermore, I like them worn asymmetrically with a side part. Worn on both sides its too much for my personal taste. And one of the most important things – they are big! One statement around the face is enough. They should never ever be worn with a huge necklace!

So what do you think about the Dior tribale earrings? Still in love or do you start to get a little tired of seeing them everywhere?
