We’ve just returned from Berlin we are stayed at the beautiful Soho House. You might already have seen some photos from the Prenzlauer Berg neighbourhood on my Instagram or Snapchat. Anyway, I couldn’t help making a blog post out of the iPhone pics taken during a stroll on our first day. This neighbourhood is so colourful, cosy and arty! Lets go and explore a little.
The first thing that really caught my eye in Prenzlauer Berg was that they have gorgeous doors. Well its not the kind of impressive huge Parisian door. Its more the kind of very casual colourful door that says ‘Hello come in, nice to meet you’.
There is graffiti as far as your eye reaches. Graffiti everywhere. Its just like someone passed by and randomly scribbled his or her thoughts onto a wall or door. The next one responded with yet another text and on it goes. Somehow, its kind of an urban wall twitter.
Finally there are the artisan coffee houses and bakeries, organic eateries and bars. Berlin Prenzlauer Berg is a real foodie heaven. So as a first timer it was super difficult for me to make a choice.
We tried Daluma for breakfast. Its an organic eatery, almost everyone seems to be obsessed with at the moment. The interior is very minimalist with a Skandy vibe and in summer you can sit outside on the giant wooden steps. Both of us had Acai bowls, which were extremely tasty and prepared with so much attention to detail.
After finishing our meetings we had coffee and an incredibly delicious cinnamon bun at ‘Zeit fuers Brot’. ‘Zeit fuers Brot’ is an artisan bakery with several outposts in Germany. The Berlin outpost is particularly lovely as you can sit outside with a direct view onto the Fernsehturm. Have you ever been to Berlin Prenzlauer Berg? What are your fav places there?
