Which makes me come back to the skate shoes trend for a third time in a line. This time to talk about more affordable alternatives to the Celine, Givenchy and Saint Laurent styles!

Fendi bag bugs 2015 are they kitsch ephemera?

Fendi bag bugs 2015 – seemed to be one of the hottest themes in the streets during fashion month just a few weeks ago! However, Financial Times fashion editor Jo Ellison called them “… an accessories line of kitsch ephemera that has gained a cult following among street-savvy-girly types “.

Isn’t it tolerable to wear something “cute” as a grown up? Does wearing such a bag bug scream please don’t take me serious I am a teenager in a woman’s body?

Chanel flap bag price 2015 – No alternative for a real icon!

Last Tuesday WWD reported that Chanel is about to increase prices for Chanel 2.55 flap bags, Boy bag and 11.12 bag by 20% in the European Union come April 8th while dropping them in China immediately.

Beeing a loyal fan of the brand for so many years I felt devastated. How the hell could they do something like that to all their European customers? Many of my friend had the same feelings and felt certainly a little betrayed. Having a more detailed look on the matter and discussing things with my husband I soon started discovering that there hasn’t been a real chance for Chanel! The Euro has dropped against the Dollar as much as 11% within recent times. Chanel and many other European luxury products have always been between 30 and 60% more expensive in China than in Europe. With the drop of the Euro the price difference has increased further. As a matter of fact the black market trade, which means people buying bags in Europe and reselling them in China has exploded. Of course not all of them traded with the real thing. Consequently, a huge mistrust against Chanel products had emerged in China, thus undermining the brand image on a global scale.

So Chanel might not have betrayed its European customers while trying to protect the brand image on a global scale, but certainly the price increase stimulates us Europeans to look around and search a little deeper to find options! In a previous post I already told you about the Boy bag, which is only 4 years old – so not a real heritage thing, and tried to show you some alternatives. Lets talk Chanel 2.55 this time!

They are still hot – Chanel spring 2015 espadrilles

I still remember when the whole Chanel espadrilles hype started … It coincided with the Valentino lace espadrilles craze. And soon after the designer espadrilles for summer thing really took off. So enough of the words Chanel espadrilles are still super hot and hard to get!!! Good news for all who missed the cruise versions, new styles come with the spring summer Boulevard Chanel collection, which has just arrived in stores.

Beyond Dior earrings tribal style …

Dior tribal earrings may have caused mass hysteria in 2014. But with an increasing number of people wearing either the real style or a knockoff, the difference is often hard to see, will their coolness factor fade into a distance memory?

Dior tribale earrings available online but still trending…

I am sure that almost everyone knows the iconic double pearl earrings – big pearl behind and small pearl on the earlobe! A lot of brands offer that style at the moment. And yes its innovative and classic at the same time. It puts the pearl stud we all love for its beautiful surface and its power to illuminate our teint in a new and modern context. But above all it removed the not so nice looking back closure that has always been an integral feature of stud earrings while making them as pretty from the back as from the front. But do you know how the idea for this style was born?

Fun Fur – Fendi Bag Bugs

Oh how much I love these little witty creatures! Did you know that its already 2 years ago that Karl Lagerfeld created these cute monster fur balls called Fendi Bag Bugs for the first time? I liked them immediately. They reminded me of my childhood when I loved to pick a plush toy charm from Nici, a German brand that is very popular for doing a lot of incredibly cute plush toys, to attach it to my school backpack as a lucky charm. When it started to get torn by carrying it around I put it inside the backpack, but it stayed. In many ways the Fendi Bag Bugs represented a deluxe version of that lucky charm for me.  So the idea is great isn’t it! It catches our attention with those childhood memories and puts them in the context of our grown up world! But was it enough to make Fendi bag bugs last?

Some Carine Roitfeld street style inspirations from Couture week in January

Tomorrow fashion month, the 4 week marathon of fashion shows kicks off in NYC and fashion folks from all around the world have a journey from NYC to London to Milan and finally Paris ahead of them. They will see the woman’s collections for fall 2015 on the runways and have to look stylish in a mix of fall 2014 as well as cruise and spring 2015 items to create the parallel runway, which is known as street style. Sounds like a job to envy people? Well for me it sounds both great but also incredibly hard. Whenever we are traveling I either end up wearing the same boring looks all the time or having to pay a huge amount of money for overweight. However, during the most recent couture week in Paris Harpers Bazaar’s Global fashion Director Carine Roitfeld provided a perfect example of how the ideal travel packing might look like. Lets get inspired by Carine Roitfeld street style from Couture week!
