Good evening my beloved readers,
today is the first day of fall and I’m finally getting into the mood for the new season. For me fall is usually all about cosy layers. And yesterdays look was really all about layers. I started with a cashmere slip dress, which I got many many years ago from my fav basics brand The Row at the NAP sale. To add a little texture I added a crochet dress and finished the look with a navy blue trench coat from Alshair Brooklyn.

As its so often the case when putting together an outfit I love to go for basic pieces often with a certain Parisian vibe and add some off the moment accessories.

One of my go for pieces at the moment is my Chanel falp bag from the Dallas collection. I love the deep burgundy red and the silver studs.

Regarding shoes I really feel like I’ve turned into a true Gucci girl as I’m either wearing my Princetown sliders or Marmonts almost 24 seven.

As I really feel that the whole slider thing has turned into an industrywide trend I attached a selection of my current favs below. So do you love wearing sliders? Which one is your favourite?

Finally a new post … OMG why does it always take me such a long time to prepare a proper post? Anyway here we go. We are currently in Paris and lucky enough to enjoy some late summer evenings. And is there anything better than a stroll along the Seine banks while soaking up the afternoon sun? Probably not – not even when the thin soles of your Miu Miu ballerinas are almost killing you …

We usually start our afternoon Seine strolls in the area  around Pont Neuf and walk towards Île Saint-Louis. Its really easy to get lost in the romantic streets on that island and there are way too many cute stores as well as the headquarters of my fav Parisian glacier Berthillon.

Gelato in the hand and some delicious calissons and P√Ęte de Fruit in the shopping bag we left the island for the Quartier Latin area. Here the banks of the Seine are particularly beautiful and astonishingly quiet.

Whenever we go for a stroll in that region there is always a couple, these days mostly Asian, doing a wedding shooting here. It always makes me remember that once upon a time we were the couple standing there for our very own wedding pics. Oh how that makes me dream … By the way¬†for me the back of Notre Dame with the Seine right in front has something quintessentially Parisian without beeing kitschy or touristy. I almost prefer the back over the front …

As I was wearing my white dress which I received from Revolve clothing the very moment we came back home from vacation … well who needs a summer dress after summer vacation … we decided against our obligatory picnic underneath that Oh so romantic willow tree on¬†√éle de la Cit√© and headed for the terrace at¬†Shakespeare and Company. And of course its¬†always a pleasure to browse for some of their vintage or brand new English language books¬†after an early dinner.

Ah and just in case that you are wondering wether I wear that kind of look often for a stroll along the Seine … hmmm no … its been the first time that I’ve worn it. And I can only tell you don’t do that – thin soled Miu Miu shoes are not the kind of shoes that should be worn on cobble stones … anyway I wanted to take some pretty pics for you. Hope you’ll like them, than it was worth it.

Xoxo Andrea

By the way here is a short selection of all my fav lace up ballerinas. I particularly love the velvet versions and the Fur lined style. So perfect for the transitional season.

Hallo my lovely readers,
I know I’ve already¬†‘spammed’ you with tons of photos from our August 2016 road trip on instagram lately. However,¬†upon asking you whether there is still something left that you would like to hear about in further detail many expressed an interest. So this is supposed to be the first post in a series of three, which will be dedicated to the regions we visited. But enough of the introductory talk lets start with Lake Como.

Lago di Como

Although we arrived by car from Munich I guess it might be most convenient to fly to Milano and combine Lake Como with a city trip. I mean Como is only about an hour from Milano by car!

We chose Bellagio as our home base at Lago di Como. But be warned its not that easy to reach. You have to take an one hour ride along the curvy coastal road. However, as it offers stunning views above the Lake its not that bad though. We chose to stay at the beautiful Villa Serbelloni (For more details on the hotel check my TripAdvisor review) right in the middle of Bellagio.

We had planned three full days, which might be a little too short depending on your activity level. The Lake Como is served quite well by the ferry boat so its not too difficult to access some  of the neighbouring villages and of course villas across the lake.

What I enjoyed the most about Lake Como is the architectural diversity. Close to the lake there are lots of villas some functioning as hotels today. Particularly after the tons of day tourists have finally left the atmosphere gets very elegant and upscale here. However, as soon as we entered the cobbled and often staired backstreets we felt a complete change in the atmosphere. The facades of the houses were more simple, yet bright and colorful. For us this was the perfect area to search for cute restaurants to enjoy a beautiful Italian dinner.

Bellagio Lago di Como

lago di como

The first one on my restaurant list was Trattoria San Giacomo, guess you know that one from pinterest. Although its definitely a very photogenic place I have to admit that its not a must dine. If you want to know more check my TripAdvisor review. For our second and third evening we went for smaller establishments off the main tourist road and really felt that we got a little more value for money.

Has any one of you ever been to that region? How was your experience? Would love to hear your thoughts,

XOXO Andrea

Miu Miu ballerinas

Hi guys, so here I have a new outfit post for you. You might already have seen on my IG that I really started to develop a strong love relationship with my high waist leather culottes and my Miu Miu ballerinas.

For such a long time I’ve always felt it very difficult to find a lovely and flattering pair of culottes. A pair that has just the right length¬†and not to forget¬†the right volume in the right place. Since I discovered my black leather culottes by chance I can’t stop wearing them.¬†But enough of the words here are just a few photos of one of my current fav pairings – high waist culottes and a cropped top. Can’t wait to hear what you think about that look!

The Beach People

Hi guys, finally its the weekend but I still have to work. Guess many of you are going on vacation soon. So I feel its high time to talk beach essentials. Although I love a day spend at a beautiful beach club, like my absolute fav the Club 55 in St Tropez, I really adore the more casual vibe of going to a beach putting your towl in the sand and having not too many people around you. So thats exactly where ‚ÄöThe Beach People‚Äė, an Aussie brand launched by two stylish sisters about 3 years ago, comes into the game. They offer the most beautiful rounded beach towls with stunning patterns. Prior to going to Mykonos at the beginning of May for my dads birthday bash I started researching the Mykonos beaches a little. So what did I discover? Beach clubs like Scorpios hadn‚Äôt opened yet and there are plenty beautiful public beaches on the island. So I felt that it was high time to finally get my hands on one of those awesome The Beach Peoples towls. What do you think about the rounded beach towel trend? Which kind of beach do you prefer – beach club versus sitting in the sand at a public beach? Can`t wait to hear your thoughts!

high time for summer layers

Hi guys, hope your week is going well so far. Mine has been absolutely great. Its only 3 more weeks until we’ll finally descend to the South of France for August vacation. Well,¬†summer hasn‚Äôt been too much about sunny and hot days for the past few weeks. Thats why I somehow felt¬†that its high time to talk summer layers.

While in Paris some weeks ago we were confronted with the big summer chill and I had no other option than starting to layer layer layer. So I opted for a really really romantic Victorian style back button shirt, which is one of my fav summer staples. Next I went for a black sleeveless cashmere dress. Finally I added some more texture with a silk baseball jacket which I got last year from Dover Street Market in Tokyo. Accessorized with my beloved studded Chanel flap bag and my newly acquired two tone espadrilles I really felt both warm and comfy. Do you have any favourite pieces to layer on chilly summer days?

Hi guys, hope your weekend has been great so far. When you are following me on snapchat or IG you might have noticed that we’ve recently spend a week in beautiful Berlin. We were¬†invited by a very dear friend and¬†stayed at the Soho House in Prenzlauer Berg. I know that there is a lot of talk about Soho House at the moment so I felt like I should write a small blog post about it.¬†

Soho House is a global hotel concept providing accomodation and leisure activities ranging from dining, clubbing and spa to workshops for their members and friends. While my husband had already stayed at Soho House in NYC a few times before it was my first stay at a Soho House ever and of course I came with huge expectations. But, first things first we arrived by car! While Soho House offers a small area to off- and on-load your car they do not provide valet parking or operate hotel owned parking facilities. So you have to go and find a parking lot in the streets nearby or go for one of the neighbooring garages. I know its boring to start like that but for us it was kind of a problem.

However, upon entering the building I’ve to say that I was terribly in love. The interior is very very hipster and there is a Cecconis restaurant as well as a concept store, called ‘The Store’ in the basement of the building.

Our room was magic. It was so big with a central living area with a kitchen, a dining table, a desk, the beautiful bedroom and an amazing bathroom with tons of amazing products by Cowshed.

By far the best part of Soho House is on the 6th and 7th floor. Its the members only club area with two restaurants and the rooftop terrace with pool overlooking the ‘Fernsehturm’. Have you ever stayed at one of the Soho Houses worldwide? What are your fav hotels in Berlin?

Hi Guys, already Wednesday, which means its time for a new post. Today I want to talk to you about me latest obsession with Gucci as a brand and the Gucci Princetown shoes in particular.

As long as I can remember I’ve never been a Gucci girl. At some point Gucci must have been really cool. I mean at the time where Tom Ford was creative director and collaborated with Carine Roitfeld as a stylist. But to be honest I can’t remember that time or to express it more precisely it must have been long before I started to discover fashion brands. And somehow many people must have felt the same as I never heard anyone talk about it.

All of a sudden things changed at the beginning of 2015. All the fashion talk around me suddenly shifted towards Gucci and its newly appointed creative director Alessandro Michele. Checking the runway pics from his first collection I was like wow. Its so so vintage, intellectual and pretty. And those furry slippers derived from the classy horse bite loafer, the Gucci Princetown, immediately caught my eye. As soon as the first pieces hit the stores I simply had to go for the Princetown.
Ever since I’m a huge fan of the furry Gucci Princetown loafers. They are super comfy and somehow I feel that they are great even on hot days to avoid cold feet from the air-condition. And whats even more fun I somehow feel that everyone around me is a true Princetown fan as almost all of my friends own a version of the shoe. Whats your opinion do you like the current trend towards slippers and babouche style shoes?

XOXO Andrea

We’ve just returned from¬†Berlin we are stayed at the beautiful Soho House. You might already have seen some photos from the Prenzlauer Berg neighbourhood on my Instagram or Snapchat. Anyway,¬†I couldn’t help making a blog post out of the iPhone pics taken during a stroll on our first day. This neighbourhood is so colourful, cosy and arty! Lets go and explore a little.

Processed with VSCO with s2 preset

Chanel espadrilles

The first thing that really caught my eye in Prenzlauer Berg was that they have gorgeous¬†doors. Well its not the kind of impressive huge Parisian door. Its more the kind of very casual colourful door that says ‘Hello come in, nice to meet you’.

IMG_1160

There is graffiti as far as your eye reaches. Graffiti everywhere. Its just like someone passed by and randomly scribbled his or her thoughts onto a wall or door. The next one responded with yet another text and on it goes. Somehow, its kind of an urban wall twitter.

Zeit f√ľrs Brot, Alte Sch√∂nhauser Str. 4, 10119 Berlin

Zeit f√ľrs Brot, Alte Sch√∂nhauser Str. 4, 10119 Berlin

Finally there are the artisan coffee houses and bakeries, organic eateries and bars. Berlin Prenzlauer Berg is a real foodie heaven. So as a first timer it was super difficult for me to make a choice.

We tried Daluma for breakfast. Its an organic eatery, almost everyone seems to be obsessed with at the moment. The interior is very minimalist with a Skandy vibe and in summer you can sit outside on the giant wooden steps. Both of us had Acai bowls, which were extremely tasty and prepared with so much attention to detail.

After finishing our meetings we had coffee and an incredibly delicious cinnamon bun at ‘Zeit fuers Brot’. ‘Zeit fuers Brot’ is an artisan bakery with several outposts in Germany. The Berlin outpost is particularly lovely as you can sit outside with a direct view onto the Fernsehturm. Have you ever been to Berlin Prenzlauer Berg? What are your fav places there?

Eres swimwear

As you might have seen on my Instagram and Snapchat we are in Berlin this week. And guys what to say its freaking hot here. Everyone around me seems to go on vacation within the next ¬†few weeks. So I really feel its high time to talk a little about swimwear.¬†I had always sticked to two piece swimsuit never ever would I’ve dreamed of falling in love with a one-piece. However, with the beginning of summer 2016 season I couldn’t help seeing white one piece swimsuit all over the internet. As it is so often the case I hated them initially. Well, don’t they loose their bright white color due to contact with sunscreen and salt or pool water. Aren’t they see through when you come out of the water? And above all don’t they make you look fat?

Eres swimwear

Eres swimsuit

That said¬†somehow I couldn’t get rid of the idea of getting a white swimsuit. And than all of a sudden it happened. A friend send me a photo she had found on the internet. It showed Kylie Jenner laying by the pool in a beautiful while swimsuit with even more beautiful blue and red stripes at the side. I was absolutely sure that this is my must have piece. Thats the one that I want! As its so often the case it was by Chanel. Immediately I started contacting several Chanel stores. Without any success. I failed to secure it. But having failed doesn’t mean giving up! Now I was even more eager to find a white swimsuit that suited me. So I turned to my all time favourite for classy and timeless swimwear. My beloved Eres swimwear. And what to say I really found one¬†that I liked and that I took with me to Mykonos. So what’s your opinion about the ‘white swimsuit trend’? Did you go for it or do you plan to skip it?

XOXO Andrea
