Dior the fashion house founded in the 50ies once famous for opulent fairy tale designs under John Galliano is new transferred into the times of minimalism by Beglium designer Raf Simons. OK, I don’t love all pieces of the brand. But particularly the black pant suits, some jewelry pieces, the shoes as well as the color combinations are super inspiring. In this section I am going to share all the things about Dior that I like the most!

Dior fusion sneakers … A new trend?

It was last season that the couture world shocked us – There were urban sneakers on the runways. Not only at one show but at two – Chanel and Dior. While the Chanel version was an immediate love affair for me and I was more than happy to spot a similar shape on the Chanel supermarket ready to wear runway for this fall – the Dior version was something I found highly ugly. Something like a swim shoe. End of June 5 versions of the Dior fusion sneakers were taken out of the couture atelier and officially launched at the Parisian temple of cool – Colette! As I had expected the couture street style was full of woman wearing the Dior fusion sneakers to the shows.

Purity of shape at Dior couture fall 2014

On Monday one of the biggest shows definitely was Dior couture fall 2014. According to style.com and the Dior press release the theme of the show was “across time”. The collection showed influences from so many centuries, which were interpreted in a new and modern way in order to show in one collection how much “…the future is based on the past”. In that way the collection was an extremely fabulous lesson in fashion history. Beyond this almost educational aspect and the beauty of the  looks the show provided a lot of inspirations for the general fashionistas, whose wardrobe isn’ t based on Couture! What are these implications?

Dior gum tee shirt earrings the star of Dior’s new pre fall campaign video

Everyone, who knows a thing or two about Christian Dior, the heritage brand owned by the LVMH luxury conglomerate and modernized under the creative direction of Raf Simons, might have heard about their series of campaign videos entitled “Secret Garden”. The videos lensed by Inez and Vinoodh usually show the brands pre fall collection against the backdrop of the Château de Versailles. In 2014 we are in season 3 of  “Secret Garden”! I personally like the videos a lot. They have something surreal, fairy tale like so reminiscent of Tim Burtons Alice in Wonderland.

Dior tribal earrings price – Spotted a bargain at Le Marais Paris?!

The Dior tribal earrings price is a question of debate. While the Dior homepage officially says 270 EURO for the initial pearl Mise en Dior tribal earring, 310 EURO for the kautschuk coated Gum Tee shirt and the metal Dior Tee shirt, resale prices on ebay and co. can be much higher. While in Paris about 2 weeks ago I found a store in the Marais, which offered an almost look alike earring for 29 EURO!!! Obviously its fake!?

The double pearl choker – All the rage in NYC!?

Its old news that pearl jewelry made a big comeback this year with the key piece of the season being definitely the Mise en Dior tribal earrings. However, while vacationing in New York I only saw one woman at Bergdorf’s wearing a Dior tribal earring but a huge amount of woman wearing double pearl choker necklaces. So where did the trend originate from?

5 great ellipse earrings for spring 2014

Seems that everyone is doing ellipse earrings at the moment! Maybe Delfina Delettrez started the trend with her surrealist lip, eye, bee pieces. Although their long sleek shape is really beautiful and particularly flatters a round face, the funny decorative elements never really matched my taste. As a matter of fact I was more than happy when I recently saw a simple double pearl version in the online store (Delfina Delettrez double pearl ellipse earrings, 395 EURO, http://www.delfinadelettrez.it). They are not only great to be worn alone, but also a fabulous paring with a variety of other earrings.

Dior gum tee shirt double pearl earrings – What’s next?

Its almost one year since Dior’s iconic white double pearl earrings hit stores. They were followed by the more edgy rubber finish Dior gum tee shirt and the metallic Dior tee shirt earrings. However, honestly I start to get a little bored of seeing them everywhere around and begun to wonder how the next earring hit from Dior might look like.
