Editors and celebrities during fashion and couture weeks – its a slightly surreal mix of the hottest fashion of the moment no matter whether its the newest H&M designer collab or the most luxurious and exotic Hermes bag on the planet you can spot it in the front row!

Woman wearing glasses ….

Men wearing glasses have always been great. They are perceived as a symbol of being intellectual. In recent years I feel that there is an ongoing change in the perception of woman wearing glasses. Many stylish woman showed up wearing glasses at fashion events. Here are my top 3 woman wearing glasses.

Woman wearing glasses – Ines de la Fressange daughters

Nine d’Urso (20), just for reference the testimonial of Bottega Veneta’s fragrance campaign, and her sister Violette d’Urso (15) often wear glasses while accompanying their mother Inès de la Fressange to some of the hottest fashion events. Both prefer bold, tortoiseshell frames with a vintage edge.

One week of couture – one week of Ines de la Fressange style inspirations

After reviewing Emmanuelle Alt’s and Carine Roitfeld’s couture week looks here comes a closeup of the outfits of another style icon of mine – Ines de la Fressange. While Emmanuelle strongly adheres to Isabel Marant, Saint Laurent and sometime Balmain for the composition of her looks Carine favors Givenchy and Tom Ford as well as other big name brands. Ines de la Fressange style is totally different. Her looks are usually made up from pieces made by lesser known labels. Thus making her appear like she has handpicked everything on her tasteful shopping trips into the most secret stores of Paris (…the effect is definitely intended as a number of short films named “Ines little diaries” is available on the Roger Vivier homepage. Main actor of the films usually is Ines while shopping in a particular region of Paris! – By the way very inspiring to watch for a Parisian or someone who visits the city more often!) That said what Ines de la Fressange style inspirations can we get from couture week?

For her appearance at Schiaparelli Ines de la Fressange chose a simple look combining a cream white tunic top (very similar one from Isabel Marant, available at mytheresa.com) with a pair of cropped pants. Accessories – of course Roger Vivier bag and loafers! Continue reading

One week of couture – One week of Carine Roitfeld style inspirations!

In line with a general fashion trend towards minimalism and effortless styling I somehow feel that “French style” is quite trending at the moment. Besides Emmanuelle Alt, editor in chief of French Vogue, I feel that Carine Roitfeld, global fashion director for Harper’s Bazaar, is one of the standout woman, that represent that style. Let’s draw some inspirations from her outfits from couture presentations last week!

Day 1 – Carine Roitfeld style

For the presentations on Monday Carine Roitfeld went for a simple safari style shirt dress and combined it with some leaf printed knee high boots.

A Celine dress is simply the best – Trust Carine & Gaia

I am a true Céline addict. The French brand owned by the luxury cluster LVMH simply has some of the best ready to wear. Their skirts are incredible, the coats are among the most comfortable and stylish in the world and the bags, in particular the black Phantom are to die for. And a funny coincidence at Paris Couture last week proofed that a Celine dress is simply the best too!

Finding the perfect shirt taking inspiration from Alma Jodorowsky

Alma Jodorowsky, the French actress who played a role in “Blue Is the Warmest Colour” , proofed that she does not only look beautiful but also has great fashion taste. Totally effortless she combined pieces from different looks from the Chanel Dubai show in order to make them parts of her very own outfit for her front row appearance at the Chanel Couture presentation yesterday. For me the standout of her ensemble definitely was the cream white shirt with the tail at the back. Super simple, absolutely elegant and timeless – that’s how a great wardrobe basic should look like. So where to shop for a perfect shirt like the one worn by Alma Jodorowsky?

Emmanuelle Alt street style inspiration from Louis Vuitton cruise Monaco

Whenever, I see Emmanuelle Alt streetstyle photos I am totally captivated by the simplicity of her look. Its almost all basics but mixed in the way she mixes and worn in the way she wears they have such a great effect. After being a little amazed to see her wearing a black blazer, which is likely to be the Isabel Marant  x HM blazer from last fall, for Chanel cruise in Dubai and again at Louis Vuitton cruise in Monaco I was happy to find a photo of the total Monaco look on style.com today. Do you know which 3 important styling “rules” we can learn from her look!?

Repetition reloaded Emmanuelle Alt @LV cruise Monaco

I recently wrote about French Vogue editor in chief, Emmanuelle Alt’s sartorial choice for Chanel cruise Dubai presentation. She simply went for the black Isabel Marant pour H&M blazer she had been worn several times before. I immediately liked her decision, because she stayed true to her style, although everyone around her was in Chanel. However, I was a little amazed when I saw the following photos of her while attending the Louis Vuitton cruise 2015 presentation in Monaco yesterday….

Repetition is a sign of style – Emmanuelle Alt @ Chanel resort Dubai

Yesterday, I spotted a photo of Emmanuelle Alt, one of my favorite style icons, upon arrival at the Chanel resort Dubai show on style.com.  As always she looked super effortless in a black blazer worn above a simple T-shirt chinched at the waist with a simple Isabel Marant belt. But stop – look again …. The blazer has a really broad shawl collar, a white lining – Guess I have seen it before …

Emmanuelle Alt style or how to be fashionable without following the latest trend

Honestly, I don’t know why it took me such a long time to write a post about the style of French Vogue editor Emmanuelle Alt. I simply love her style and she always provides such incredible inspirations for me. So what makes her style so outstanding? And how to translate the Emmanuelle Alt style into your own wardrobe?
