Since quite some seasons designers provide us with mini versions of our favourite “not so small purse styles”, like tote or satchel. Consequently, the mini bag has evolved as a major competitor to classic small bags like flap bag or clutch. The mini tote shape is by far my favourite among the new generation of shrunken bags. Let’s continue the makeover of the skirts department of our wardrobe for the upcoming fall. As we already discussed in a previous post midi surely was the major skirt length that was snapped by street style photographers during the most recent fashion month! But somehow major online stores didn’t feel that this skirt length is going to become a mainstream favorite any time soon and continued to strongly focus on mini skirts. We already analyzed the fall 2014 trends regarding headgear, coats and sweaters. What else usually makes an impression on the runway? For sure the most integral component of most collections – The dresses! Just take Bottega Veneta with an entire fall collection based on dresses. Despite of this runway situation I feel that most people in the streets no matter whether its fashion week street style or just everyday city life rarely buy dresses. Here everything seems to be about separates and pants! That said I want to keep the dress trend section quite short, because I feel that there is only one major trend called 60ies revival!

Since some seasons coats got bigger and bigger and oversizing started to be all around. This fall things seemed to change a little bit – besides the oversized pieces several leading designers seemed to concentrate more on tailored coats!

Two is a coincidence 3 a trend! But when it comes to hats on the fall 2014 runways its more than just a trend! Its a must for every woman, who pays just a little attention to fashion! There were floppy wide brim styles with just a bit of 70ies factor at Saint Laurent (EURO 790.00) and Coach – Great for oblong and very angular faces, but incredibly good looking with a perfectly round face too. A patchwork fedora at Chanel fall winter pre-collection and Rag & Bone fedora hats – Best for round faces, but equally well working with an oblong face when the brim is strictly facing downward (that’s the case for Maison Michel Henrietta but not so much for the Virginie)! And not to forget, besides Rag & Bone fedora hats, Chanel, Saint Laurent and Coach, oversized melon hats at Emporio Armani – likely to look good on everyone, who is brave enough to wear them with attitude!

In general I am a huge fan of “French style” and love to keep all the looks of woman like Caroline de Maigret, Inès de La Fressange, Carine Roitfeld or Clémence Poésy on my pinterest pinboards.
