Dior tribal earrings may have caused mass hysteria in 2014. But with an increasing number of people wearing either the real style or a knockoff, the difference is often hard to see, will their coolness factor fade into a distance memory?

Well I feel its always good to look for alternatives at an early time. What about the nice pearl earrings AdR wore for the Gucci presentation during MFW yesterday. They were by Copenhagen based designer Sophie Bille Brahe. In contrast to Dior earrings tribal style they are made out of precious pearls as well as gold and they are very gracile thus not overpowering the face. So what else? Delfina Delettrez, you know the jewelry designer daughter of Silvia Fendi, recently opened a new store in London (109 Mount Street, London) during Fashion week. She launched double sided earrings much earlier than Dior and still has a lot of beautiful pieces on offer.

Besides that, I really love Asherali Knopfer, a Paris based brand. Her hook with interchangeable studs and pearls is really gorgeous. Just one minor drawback, they are really difficult to insert!

The Luptia Nyong’o beloved Vita Fede double cubo styles are another beautiful piece. While the oversized rounded Dior earrings tribal style might not flatter a round face the cub styles can be the perfect alternative.

While talking two sided earrings there is another brand that should not be missed. Its Ana Khouri. She is a Brazilian designer now based in NYC. Her great pieces have already found a loyal following of celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence and Lupita Nyong’o.

So there are a lot of original options in the field of two sided earrings. What do you think? Still favoring Dior earrings tribal style or do you start to consider moving on to something different?
