Louis Vuitton’s La Petite Malle, you know the trunk shaped minaudière, seems to have set a trend towards boxy little hand bags. For all those, who got a bit disappointed by preorder and waiting list policies as well the significant change between the runway piece and the style that finally became available, I somehow feel that there is a pretty little alternative!
Skinnies are going to stay as the mainstream trend when it comes to pants this fall! For all those who start getting tired a little I already introduced full length flared pants, the cropped flared pants, that were also featured in Nicolas Ghesquière’s fab spring 2015 runway show (watch the show here), the boyfriend jeans and the “mom jeans”! And yes I already wrote about dungarees here on the blog! So I want to keep it short and present you with some inspirations on how to wear yours!
Guess that even those persons with only the slightest fashion interest have recognized that 60ies are back this fall. In a previous post I already showed you the softly draped side of the era by means of Ossie Clark style flouncy dresses. But sure there is also another more structured and tailored side – its the original mod shift dress.
We already analyzed the fall 2014 trends regarding headgear, coats and sweaters. What else usually makes an impression on the runway? For sure the most integral component of most collections – The dresses! Just take Bottega Veneta with an entire fall collection based on dresses. Despite of this runway situation I feel that most people in the streets no matter whether its fashion week street style or just everyday city life rarely buy dresses. Here everything seems to be about separates and pants! That said I want to keep the dress trend section quite short, because I feel that there is only one major trend called 60ies revival!
After providing some inspirations on where to get the perfect straw hats, sunglasses and sleeveless shirts for summer here comes some inspiration on denim shorts. Cut off or cuffed in summer they are the equivalent to skinny and boyfriend jeans. Need some inspiration on where to find the best styles and how to combine them?
1. Rag & Bone denim shorts
For quite some time I considered denim shorts as something for teenagers, rock festivals or the beach. However, since I first saw the boyfriend shape Rag & Bone denim shorts at Montaigne Market in Paris I knew that things are going to change for me this season. Sadly they weren’t available in my size and I had to wait and try to get them in NYC. After buying the Rag & Bone denim shorts “Aoyama” I soon realized that they are incredibly versatile for almost every day!

Nike trainers, Adidas Originals, New Balance and co. rule the spring summer trend! They are in line with a tendency towards “comfort is stylish”. However, there is a fine line between a jeans + sweater + trainers bucolic/ sloppy look and a really stylish outfit including the most recent special edition of Nike trainers. Below I show you how to mastered the art of making trainers look incredible using Alexa Chung as an example.
