Around a year ago shortly before Christmas I discovered Innocent smoothie bottles with knit beanies while lunching at Cojean, the organic canteen of Paris famed department store Printemps. I immediately thought how cute is that. These bottles are actually wearing beanies to protect their – well caps – “against the cold of the fridge”. A few weeks later fall 2014 collections were presented and as usual knitwear was a repeating theme. But this season it wasn’t just about coziness. Much more at several brands the sweaters were that big that they gave a feeling of the wearer being caught in a spiders web. At Commes des Garçons the idea of human beings locked up in woolen textiles spinning around the body got really scary! In June we visited Dover Street Market, the multi floor shopping empire owned by the Japanese brand Commes des Garçons. Again something knitted caught my eye! One of the three several floor spanning columns was covered in colorful knit reminding me of South American native crafts and evoking joyful childhood memories. Until that time to me woolen textiles had always been something functional that keeps you warm and creates a cosy atmosphere at home. But far beyond that I started to realize that they can evoke strong feelings ranging from cuteness to discomfort. However, I had never seen or been aware of sculptures or installations made out of textile! Are there artist working mainly or solely with textiles?
Floral Chanel sweaters and amazing shirts
Chanel cruise 2015, the Dubai show, has officially arrived in stores, and I already presented some of the most covetable pieces from the handbag, shoes, jewellery and jacket section. But this is not where the collection ends. There is also plenty of pretty knitwear and one of the most amazing shirts the brand has done in a while…

Chanel cruise 2015 jackets aren’t they amazing?
Chanel cruise 2015 has officially arrived in stores. I already provided an insight into cruise bags, shoes and jewellery so lets continue with the jackets today. Chanel jackets are very much of a heritage thing of the brand. The iconic boxy, collarless pocket jacket shape was first introduced in 1954 by Coco Chanel and is popular until today! So is there a potential icon within the collection?

Whats your favorite Chanel cruise 2015 handbag?
Its always so exciting when a new Chanel collection hits stores. Sure some pieces have already arrived since early October but the official international launch date for Chanel cruise 2015, the Dubai show, is November 18th so its still ahead of us!!! And one of the things I am looking most forward to is surely the handbags. Which exceptional pieces from the runway were the most beautiful? Which are the most amazing new colors and textures that will arrive for the classic flap and Boy bags?
Fake Dior tribal earrings …?
There is a very popular procedure that repeats itself time and time again in fashion industry. An innovative piece is launched by a brand and popularised by media. Sooner or later the market is flooded with lookalikes, many cheaper but also some at the same or slightly lower price level. So its nothing different with Dior’s iconic tribal earring – you know the one with one pearl on the earlobe and the other behind! The one Alexa Chung wore perfectly well for a Valentino dinner earlier this month.

Louis Vuitton’s La Petite Malle, you know the trunk shaped minaudière, seems to have set a trend towards boxy little hand bags. For all those, who got a bit disappointed by preorder and waiting list policies as well the significant change between the runway piece and the style that finally became available, I somehow feel that there is a pretty little alternative!
Dior tribal, tee shirt, gum tee shirt, tribale … – Now there is something new on its way!
Having a look at the guests pictures from a party Dior hosted last week at the Guggenheim Museum in NYC it seems that the success of the Dior tribal earrings, which started to be sold in summer 2013, simply won’t fade. But after some seasons of alterations of the signature Dior double pearl style you won’t believe what a supersingly beautiful new earring style arrives in stores at the moment!
Have you read “How to be Parisian”?
Have you seen the pictures of people camping over night in front of H&M stores in Singapore and Toronto. Its really impressive! As the collection they are queueing for is a heavily branded one I couldn’t help but think about “How to be Parisian”. In this book, published in September 2014, French model Caroline de Maigret calls on people not to wear logos. Don’t wear logos you are not a billboard! Kind of confusing, isn’t it? So what about logos at the moment are they in style or a thing of yesterday?
