Architecture and interiors are something that inspires me a lot. In this section I am going to share some of my favorite city neighborhoods, buildings, hotels or exhibitions!

Ace hotel NYC – masculine interior with great attention to details

When it comes to travel planning no matter whether business or vacation I am usually the one, who selects hotels. However, for our recent NYC trip my husband had booked Ace hotel NYC. Googleing the hotel for the first time I have to admit that I was a little shocked. Sure its industrial and sure I like industrial style  But only to a certain amount. Some of the hotel rooms seemed industrial to a point thats almost painful! Consequently, I was more than suspicious on how a stay at Ace hotel is going to look like!

Highline NYC – sleek nordic elegance meets industrial style & cool contemporary art

While in New York city a few weeks ago one of the things I enjoyed the most was highline NYC. Its a park on an elevated former railroad track in the west of Manhatten island. In the north the high line NYC starts at west 30th street and its southern end is marked by the Standard Highline hotel near the DVF headquarters.

La Maison Champs Elysees – A Margiela designed hotel in Paris

As we are quite frequently in Paris we have already experienced many different hotels. As we really enjoyed our last stay at Hotel du Continent we had favoured it this time as well. However, due to the Ascension day on Thursday and maybe French Open it wasn’t available. Consequently, we chose another one, which I wanted to experience for so long – La Maison Champs Elysees.

From Venetian heritage into Carlo Scarpa’s contemporary world and back

After we visited Palazzo ducale Venice on our first day in Venice Italy we did what all the tourists usually do – Explore the historic city walking along some calli, crossing bridges and finally ended on a picture perfect Piazza. There a beautiful green lacquered early 19th century store front caught our eyes. It belonged to the very lovely pastry shop “Pasticceria Bar Rosa Salva”, where we enjoyed some venetian biscotti.

Centurion Palace – our hotel in Venice

Last Wednesday we just returned from our short trip to Venice Italy. I had visited the city a few times before but never stayed in a city hotel before. Once my visit was a one day stop during a Mediterranean cruise and the other two times I stayed at the Lido. This time we had booked the Centurion Palace hotel in Dorsoduro.
