In this section I am going to share my thoughts on iconic fashion pieces with you. You know every season there are the trends and some items that are seen more than often in street style, fashion journals etc.. These pieces generate a hype and and..? Fade soon … or become a signature of the label…?
I still remember seeing the first Valentino Rockstud heels embellished with the little four sided pyramids back in early fall 2010. I went into the store tried them on, loved them, ask the shop assistant to put them aside until next day, but returned less than one hour later to buy them. Until today I adore with med style pants, skinny jeans, shorts and skirts. They almost always find their way into my suitcase when traveling and accompany my for day plus night.

Apparently more people felt the same way as I did and as a matter of fact the Valentino Rockstud design line was expanded to included other shoe shapes, bags, small leather goods, sunglasses etc..
So what is the secret behind their success. I think its the mix of an absolutely classic shoe silhouette (think no platform, elegant classic heel shape, little decorative elements). Versatility mule style but several straps to give more hold. Sandals inspired cage straps but a closed toe to make it easier to combine with tights…. Edgy little studs that give the whole thing a young and modern twist. Furthermore, in my opinion their success comes in line with the general success and positive reviews of the brand rejuvenation under the Maria Grazia Chiuri und Pierpaolo Piccoli.
