A new version of the Chanel chain link necklace …?

So we took a closer look on what is going to hit the Chanel stores next March in the field of bags, shoes, jackets – Let’s concentrate on the costume jewelry for spring 2015 now! As the topic of the show was the imaginative Parisian street “Boulevard Chanel” diversity, like we see everyday in the street, was a major component of the show. All the models wore different shades of nail polish, different makeup and yes a huge amount of different jewelry …

We had a big Chanel chain link necklace for fall on the grocery runway (view it here). And yes it was something that stimulated some brands to follow among them Zara and Dior, who introduced their versions of the style. Despite of that Chanel is going to launch a new version of its chain link necklace for spring 2015.  It is inspired by the tie dye pattern from the collection and was presented in a pink-orange as well as green-blue alteration on the runway. And for all those, who can’t get enough of the chain – belts and bracelets will be launched as well! Continue reading

Trending for fall 2014 – the wrap mini skirt

Let’s continue the makeover of the skirts department of our wardrobe for the upcoming fall. As we already discussed in a previous post midi surely was the major skirt length that was snapped by street style photographers during the most recent fashion month! But somehow major online stores didn’t feel that this skirt length is going to become a mainstream favorite any time soon and continued to strongly focus on mini skirts. So how to wear them and which ones are the best this fall?

Let’s have a look at the Chanel jackets for 2015?

Last week Chanel’s spring summer 2015 ready to wear was presented at the Grand Palais in Paris! For all, who didn’t watch the show video its online here. And as it is often the case with a Chanel show, just think the pregnant Ashleigh Good as a bride at the end of Chanel Couture fall 2014 or the two female brides at couture spring 2013, the faux feminist demonstration that was chosen as a show theme induces a rush of social media discussion that somehow seems to shift the focus away from the fashion that was presented. Let’s do it the other way round! Let’s leave the discussion about sense or nonsense of the show theme to other people and focus on the fashion! What can we expect regarding Chanel jackets for 2015?

Boulevard Chanel polarizes …

I was wrong! 🙂 Boulevard Chanel did neither deal with shopping as back in spring 2009 or fall 2014 nor with brand expansion like for fall 2013! The topic was street riots and political protest. Referencing the fab coffee table book “French Style” demonstrations are a very integral parts of French culture. Using riots as a fashion show theme surely polarizes, particularly when the creative mind behind the spectacle is someone like Karl Lagerfeld, who is known to say that “Fashion is not an art form!” So lets leave it to fashion critics to argue whether the show touched a very recent topics like gender equality, considering the “he for she” campaign, or even reached beyond that towards raising awareness for the current fight for democracy in Hong Kong or was just a stage theatre performance! Let’s take our perspective – the perspective of the customer, who wants to buy pieces that give pleasure to oneself and might eventually hold or increase value and may be even inherited someday!
