It took me until today to realize that I already analyzed the Chanel grocery store bags, jewelry and knitwear but totally forgot about the jackets. And whats a Chanel show without jackets right? So lets hurry and analyze them a little closer together! What looked easy to wear, versatile and timeless as well as of lasting or even increasing value?

Chanel grocery store runway – Let’s have a look at the knitwear!
Ever since Chanel purchased heritage Scottish cashmere mill Barrie back in December 2012 knitwear has more and more become a very integral part of every Chanel collection. When it comes to the pre-fall Paris-Dallas show my absolute favorite knitwear pieces were the huge blanket scarf that came in different colors and texture. For the Chanel grocery store runway Karl Lagerfeld opted for the complete opposite of those surely a little hard to wear pieces and showed some super easy to combine infinity scarfs. Again the scarfs were my absolute knitwear standout from the collection!
In the mood for a little Chanel update….?
While being fully indulged in the fall trends I think its also time to focus on some particular collections. And as you might have recognized Chanel is one of the brands I love the most. While talking about the brand and the products from the Chanel grocery collection that slowly starts to hit stores its unavoidable to discuss another trend! Do you know which one?
A zipper is hipper than a button this fall!
Are you in the mood for the next coat trend for fall? We already learned that regarding length the trend points towards long coats and regarding shape we have the option to choose from a wide range starting with very tight fitting styles going to super baggy versions. When it comes to the hardwear of the coat a clear trend towards sporty zippers is apparent!
My top 3 from the Chanel grocery bag collection
After Paris Dallas (Chanel pre-fall collection) gave the Chanel classics, like Boy, flap and reissue bag, a vintage cowboy makeover the supermarket collection adapts them for the ghetto kids! Something like that might be one of the first thoughts that crosses once mind when having a look at the 2 parts from the Chanel fall collection. But taking a little deeper look I have to admit that there are some really great pieces hidden in the Chanel grocery bag collection, which starts to arrive slowly in store at the moment!
Chanel Private view …
The Chanel Private view film starring the new fall winter 2014 pre-collection lensed by Karl Lagerfeld has been released and the pieces hit the stores within the upcoming weeks. Chanel Private view deals with a late night store visit of a very important client, played by Chanel creative consultant Amanda Harlech at 31 rue Cambon. Upon arrival à la parisienne at the back of a motor scooter driven by Karl Lagerfeld’s bodyguard and personal assistant Sebastien Jondeau, Lady Amanda Harlech, who is wearing a tailored double breasted Chanel Paris Dallas jacket, is first mistaken by the store directrice played by Jamie Bochert as an ordinary gazer. Consequently access to the closed boutique is denied. Upon removal of her Ruby helmet things change and she is guided up the mirror staircase where the collection is presented to her at a private room. And of course things come as they have to … she is so fascinated by the new fall winter pre-collection that she takes it completely … So the video is fun and pokes just a tiny bit at the sometimes omnipresent arrogance in the high end retail environment – What about the collection?
Cara Delevingne chanel campaign for fall 2014
Have you already seen the Chanel fall winter 2014 campaign featuring Cara Delevingne and Binx Walton in the boxing ring? It shows that Chanel wants to move forward to a more urban image. They communicate that Chanel somehow works for supermarket shopping or from gym to street. And for me personally the campaign really seems to hit at the right point …
Fendi Karlito charm …?!?!
Fendi made quite a hit with its monster face bag charms which were presented on the fall 2013 runway for the first time. For spring 2014 a new and even cuter edition was launch and until today those little frightful fur balls still manage to capture the attention of street style photographers during fashion week. But Karl Lagerfeld would’t be Karl Lagerfeld if he would rest after one hit – For fall 2014 a new Fendi “It-bag” charm simply called “Karlito” was presented on the runway and decorated the purses of many couture week attendees…
Chanel Couture flip-flops, biker shorts, Kendall Jenner & a pregnant bride
Discussion point number 1 regarding the Chanel Couture fall 2014 presentation, which was held at the Grand Palais last week in Paris, definitely was the pregnant bride, in other words Ashleigh Good 7 months pregnant as well as the runway appearance of Kim Kardashian’s sister Kendall Jenner. That said the inspiration behind the collection was Le Corbusier meets Baroque. And that was visible in every tiny aspect of the collection. Shapes were simple and clear but the embellishment was extremely rich. Fun thing very often tiny squares of concrete, the material Le Corbusier popularized, were used as an embroidery. So what kind of inspirations can we get for structuring our upcoming fall wardrobe?
Finding the perfect shirt taking inspiration from Alma Jodorowsky
Alma Jodorowsky, the French actress who played a role in “Blue Is the Warmest Colour” , proofed that she does not only look beautiful but also has great fashion taste. Totally effortless she combined pieces from different looks from the Chanel Dubai show in order to make them parts of her very own outfit for her front row appearance at the Chanel Couture presentation yesterday. For me the standout of her ensemble definitely was the cream white shirt with the tail at the back. Super simple, absolutely elegant and timeless – that’s how a great wardrobe basic should look like. So where to shop for a perfect shirt like the one worn by Alma Jodorowsky?
