31 rue Cambon, the address where Coco Chanel opened her first couture atelier back in 1921. Until today 31 rue Cambon resembles the heart of the Chanel empire. It houses a huge Chanel ready to wear and accessories store, the couture fitting rooms, Coco Chanel’s untouched private apartment including the famous mirrored staircase as well as the design offices. Personally I feel that a visit to this store is an absolute must for every fashion enthusiast. No matter whether you simply come to see this incredible place or intend to make a purchase.

Chanel grocery store runway – Let’s have a look at the knitwear!

Ever since Chanel purchased heritage Scottish cashmere mill Barrie back in December 2012 knitwear has more and more become a very integral part of every Chanel collection. When it comes to the pre-fall Paris-Dallas show my absolute favorite knitwear pieces were the huge blanket scarf that came in different colors and texture. For the Chanel grocery store runway Karl Lagerfeld opted for the complete opposite of those surely a little hard to wear pieces and showed some super easy to combine infinity scarfs. Again the scarfs were my absolute knitwear standout from the collection!

Here are some more trends to keep in mind while coat shopping …

A trendy coat for fall has to be long, oversized or fitted and eventually have a zipper instead of buttons. These shape and hardwear trends we already know! But what to keep in mind regarding color and pattern?

In the mood for a little Chanel update….?

While being fully indulged in the fall trends I think its also time to focus on some particular collections. And as you might have recognized Chanel is one of the brands I love the most. While talking about the brand and the products from the Chanel grocery collection that slowly starts to hit stores its unavoidable to discuss another trend! Do you know which one?

My top 3 from the Chanel grocery bag collection

After Paris Dallas (Chanel pre-fall collection) gave the Chanel classics, like Boy, flap and reissue bag, a vintage cowboy makeover the supermarket collection adapts them for the ghetto kids! Something like that might be one of the first thoughts that crosses once mind when having a look at the 2 parts from the Chanel fall collection. But taking a little deeper look I have to admit that there are some really great pieces hidden in the Chanel grocery bag collection, which starts to arrive slowly in store at the moment!

Chanel Private view …

The Chanel Private view film starring the new fall winter 2014 pre-collection lensed by Karl Lagerfeld has been released and the pieces hit the stores within the upcoming weeks. Chanel Private view deals with a late night store visit of a very important client, played by Chanel creative consultant Amanda Harlech at 31 rue Cambon. Upon arrival à la parisienne at the back of a motor scooter driven by Karl Lagerfeld’s bodyguard and personal assistant Sebastien Jondeau, Lady Amanda Harlech, who is wearing a tailored double breasted Chanel Paris Dallas jacket, is first mistaken by the store directrice played by Jamie Bochert as an ordinary gazer. Consequently access to the closed boutique is denied. Upon removal of her Ruby helmet things change and she is guided up the mirror staircase where the collection is presented to her at a private room. And of course things come as they have to … she is so fascinated by the new fall winter pre-collection that she takes it completely … So the video is fun and pokes just a tiny bit at the sometimes omnipresent arrogance in the high end retail environment – What about the collection?

More Chanel – The Chanel Dallas accessories

After taking a closer look at bags, knitwear and jackets the Chanel Dallas accessories are another facet of the collection thats worth to consider. Coco Chanel was the woman, who invented fashion jewelry and was brave enough to shamelessly mix fake and precious pieces thus gaining a totally effortless look! That said, as a minimalist at heart I usually tend to have some initial problems finding the right pieces among the “jewelry overload” that is quite typical for a Chanel show. However, the Chanel Dallas accessories were a little different compared with previous collections. There was a focus shift away from the layering of multiple necklaces towards bangles and bracelets as well as big but very delicate earrings with a great bohemian vibe. Here are my 3 favorites:

Let’s take a closer look at the Chanel Paris Dallas handbags!!!

Finally, I had been waiting for so long, Chanel Paris Dallas hit stores! While in Paris the collection had not arrived in store we were happy enough to spot the bright Chanel Paris Dallas window installation at the 57th Street New York flagship. As the perception differs so much between exploring a Chanel collection online or experiencing it face to face in store I simply had to walk in and have a look at the pieces. I am going to start with the handbag section and introduce my 3 favorites to you!

The all black 2.55 bag is one of my absolute favorites from Chanel Paris Dallas!

Chanel Dubai fashion show -The handbag brigade

Although the petrol can inspired Chanel Jerrycan bag might be the most talked about piece from the Chanel cruise 2015 Dubai runway chances are that it is not the most inspiring one! A smaller, cube shaped bag with two zippers was shown in several sizes and colors. I had seen a one zipper alteration of it before on the Chanel cruise Singapore runway, but never spotted it in store.
